Democrat Abby Finkenauer wins Iowa District 1, is among youngest women ever elected to U.S. House
Democrat Abby Finkenauer beat Republican incumbent Rep. Rod Blum to take over Iowa's District 1. Finkenauer, 29, beat Blum and will be among the youngest women ever elected to the House. Also elected on Tuesday was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was the youngest ever elected to Congress. Democrat Cindy Axne beat Young, and Lauren Underwood, a 32-year-old African-American nurse, topped Hultgren.

Democrat Abby Finkenauer beat Republican incumbent Rep. Rod Blum to take over Iowa's District 1.

Finkenauer, 29, beat Blum and will be among the youngest women ever elected to the House. Also elected on Tuesday was Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, who was the youngest ever elected to Congress.
