For the first time in nearly a decade, Halloweentown's Cromwell clan is getting back together for one witchy reunion. Kimberly J. Brown, who portrayed Marnie in the 1998 Disney Channel film, announced on YouTube that she, along with castmates Judith Hoag (who played Marnie's mom, Gwen) and J.Paul Zimmerman (Dylan), will attend this year's "Spirit of Halloweentown" Festival in St. Helens, Oregon, where much of the movie was filmed, to honor the late actress Debbie Reynolds."This year we wanted to do something extra-special," Brown explains. "Unfortunately, late last year we lost the incomparable Debbie Reynolds, who played Grandma Aggie. And while I was so sad, I was also happy for her that she was at peace with her daughter Carrie, whom she loved so much. … We wanted to do a special tribute to her and her role as Grandma Aggie and have a small monument set up there for her. So we're going to do that this year during the lighting ceremony."Reynolds passed away the day after her daughter, 60-year-old Star Wars actress Carrie Fisher died. She was 84 years old. Her last words to her son were, "I miss her so much, I want to be with Carrie."Her Halloweentown costars' appearance is meant to be a tribute to her life and her work. Although it's a month-long celebration, Brown, who also attended last year's festival, along with Hoag and Zimmerman will bewitch fans only on Saturday, October 14, starting with a meet-and-greet from 3:30-5:30 p.m. (there are a limited number of 130 tickets for $165). Then, that night, the celebrity guests will attend the Monument Dedication and Pumpkin Lighting from 7:30-8 p.m. (admission is free). Talk about a perfect place to break out your Halloween costume early and spend the weekend of Friday the 13th!"It's absolutely what Debbie would have wanted and is such an appropriate way for us to honor her and the movies," Brown says. For a full list of all the "bubble, bubble, toil, and trouble" that will be happening in St. Helens this year, visit Discover Columbia County.
