might not seem like such a distant dream for college grads drowning in student debt anymore, thanks to a "sunternship" program brought to you by Days Inn by Wyndham. The company is putting out a call for anyone over 21 who has a passion for , photography and storytelling to apply to be their newest "suntern," where they'll travel the world to different Days Inn locations over the course of two weeks.
“We believe everyone deserves a cultured, overseas experience — without deferring or prolonging student loans — and this mindset was the very inspiration behind this year’s global Sunternship program,” Patrick Breen, vice president of brand operations at Days Inn by Wyndham, said in a press release.
While the summer 2018 sunternship focused on traveling to the sunniest spots in the U.S. this year's itinerary is a little bit different: The chosen suntern will be able to hand-pick their international destination from places like London, Rio de Janeiro or Montreal. As for what the suntern is actually doing, the job description includes documenting your trip in a travel journal, sharing your top things to do and see and snapping various sunny photos from the destination (or destinations) of your choosing.
Days Inn will give their suntern $10,000, a daily stipend of $150, and paid hotel and economy air accommodations. You must be at least 21 years of age with a valid passport and a passion for travel to apply.
Visit by May 24, 2019 to be considered as the next suntern — you'll need to submit an original sun-filled photo and a 300-word entry describing your dream destination and why you belong there this summer.
