From the archives: 糖心vlog was there when David Letterman signed off as 'Late Show' host
David Letterman signed off as the host of the "Late Show" on May 20, 2015.
The late night legend is the longest-running TV talk show host in history. In his 33-year career, he hosted 6,028 shows and interviewed almost 20,000 guests.
Letterman spent his first 11 years at NBC, in the 11:30 p.m. slot before moving to CBS at 10:30, and the Ed Sullivan Theater, in 1993.

Some of his best friends, including Jerry Seinfeld, Steve Martin and Tina Fey, appeared on the "Late Show" finale. The Foo Fighters were also on hand to perform "Everlong," Letterman's favorite song.

The first episode of the "Late Show with David Letterman" featured actor Bill Murray and a musical performance by Billy Joel. It aired on Aug. 30, 1993.
"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" followed Letterman's show in the 10:30 p.m. slot on CBS.
