Remember in 2002 when "The Ring" came out and everyone was legit terrified of the creepy girl with the hair? Surprisingly, a real human being played the role of Samara Morgan — and she’s definitely not as scary.
Daveigh Chase, a 28-year-old from Las Vegas, was just 12 when she played the terrifying part of the girl in the tape. Despite not having many lines in the film, she certainly made an impression and inspired many a Halloween costume.
But Chase has moved on from the role, and although she's still an actress, she also spends a fair amount of time uploading pictures of her cats to Instagram.
Chase doesn't give too much away online, but she definitely looks very different to how we remember her.
It turns out Chase had another iconic role, albeit a very different one. She voiced Lilo in the "Lilo & Stitch" film and series.
According to her Chase is also a “very talented singer,” but it hasn't been completely smooth-sailing since she first made it onto the big screen. reported Chase was recently arrested before being released on bail on a drug possession charge, and has had previous run-ins with the law for various reasons.
There's no mention online of her working on any current projects, with her most recent role listed as a small part in the new TV series "" earlier this year.
