Cyclones take down Sooners, advance to Big 12 Championship

The red-hot Cyclones used a 9-0 run in the third quarter to pull ahead and scorch the Sooners 82-72 Saturday in the Big 12 semifinals at Municipal Auditorium. Big 12 Player of the Year Ashely Joens had 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead ISU. Lexi Donarski had 20 points. Nyamer Diew had 19 points off the bench and was an emotional force. ISU was 11-27 from three and led by as many as 17 in the fourth quarter.It's ISU's first appearance in the Big 12 final since 2013. They are looking to win the title for the first time since 2001. ISU, the 3-seed, faces top-seed Texas at 1 p.m. Sunday on ESPN2. The teams split in the regular season.
