Comedian Kevin Hart to host 91st annual Oscars

Kevin Hart announced he will be hosting the 91st annual Academy Awards ceremony.“For years I have been asked if I would ever host the Oscars and my answer was always the same,” the comedian and actor said in an Instagram post Tuesday evening. “I said that it would be the opportunity of a lifetime for me as a comedian and that it will happen when it's (supposed) to.“I am so happy to say that the day has finally come,” he said.Late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel has hosted the Oscars for the last two years, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Hart, whose movie credits include “Ride Along” and “Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle," previously hosted the MTV Movie Awards with Dwayne Johnson."Now it's time to rise to the occasion," Hart said.The Academy Awards will air live on Sunday, Feb. 24, on ABC.
