Carrie Underwood posted a new on Friday signaling that new music is in the works. The photo is of her on stage rehearsing with a band, showing her full face for the first time since her accident this past fall.
"Missed these guys. #bandrehearsals," she wrote in her Instagram caption. If she were planning a comeback for next weekend's ACM Awards, the timing would be pretty great. Though naturally, she's not giving any more details.
Back in November, Carrie Underwood on stairs outside her home. The country music star that she had to get more than 40 stitches in her face, and warned she “might look a little different” once she got back in front of a camera.
Underwood was back in January, who said on social media that she “looked amazing.” The only injury visible in that photo was her broken wrist, which to mend. But Underwood kept her face off social media entirely until this week, and any photo she posted would mostly obscure her face, or and , instead.
Months later, Underwood is clearly inching back into the spotlight, and she looks like she’s fully recovered— and ready to release new music, too. On Wednesday, Underwood posted a photo on and Instagram without a caption, showing herself in a recording studio. Half her face was visible, and it was the first time she’d showed that much of her face since the accident.
But what’s most important for fans is that she’s doing okay, and that we’ll likely be hearing more of her music very soon. She’s at the CMA Fest this June, and released a music video for an Olympic anthem featuring Ludacris, earlier this year. And here’s hoping she’ll make an appearance at this year’s , too, since she’s nominated for female vocalist of the year.
