The 55th Academy of the Country Music Awards show will be postponed due to the coronavirus.It was slated for April in Las Vegas. Instead, it will air in September with a date and venue to be determined. "This decision involved many partners, stakeholders and the industry who we have been in constant conversations with over the past several days as the situation has developed," Damon Whiteside, CEO of the academy, said in a statement.The news comes as a wide-ranging array of music concerts and entertainment events have been canceled or postponed. A recent addition to that list has included Elton John, who postponed part of his tour. "The health and safety of our veterans has always been the primary concern of everyone at Stars and Stripes Honor Flight," Stars and Stripes Honor Flight posted.Scheduled flights in March and April have been postponed throughout the country. They're also considering postponing trips in May, depending on how things develop, according to the post.Concerts postponedThe Zac Brown Band announced it was postponing the spring 2020 leg of its “The Owl Tour” because of concerns about the coronavirus. “This was an extremely difficult decision,” the band said on social media. “But the well-being of our fans is always our top priority. Rescheduled dates for all spring shows will be announced soon.“We ask that our fans retain their tickets as they will be honored on the new dates.”The band's announcement adds it to the growing list of entertainers canceling or postponing performances due to the spreading virus, joining artists BTS, Green Day, Mariah Carey and others.
