O.J. Simpson encourages NFL quarterbacks to be more like former Cyclone Brock Purdy
It appears Brock Purdy's fanbase extends beyond San Francisco and Ames.

O.J. Simpson, a former NFL star, actor, and acquitted California murder defendant and convicted Las Vegas armed robber, complimented the record-breaking Iowa State quarterback in a video on X, formerly known as Twitter.
Simpson compared three teams — the Dallas Cowboys, New York Jets and San Francisco 49ers — to each other based on "top-four defenses," "great wide receivers" and "running backs who can take it to the house." Then, he got to Purdy.
"What's the difference between those three teams?" Simpson asked. "It's Brock Purdy. Brock Purdy doesn't play hero ball. Brock Purdy will throw the ball away when he has to... Dak Prescott, Zach Wilson, you guys gotta play like Brock Purdy.
"Brock Purdy is who Zach Wilson and Dak Prescott need to be copying."
Purdy and the 49ers won their season opener Sunday at Pittsburgh, making Purdy a flawless 6-0 in regular-season starts in his career. , Purdy is the first quarterback in NFL history to start 6-0 and throw two or more touchdown passes in his first six starts. He also became the first ever with a 95-or-better passer rating in each of his first six starts in the regular season.
