Traveling on a plane with a small baby is stressful, and unfortunately, babies cry. We're totally understanding — sometimes there's not a lot you can do about it and the parents are probably feeling worse about the crying than you are.
However, it's hard to keep these things in mind mid-flight next to a wailing baby.
If you just can't take the sound, there's a way you can reduce your risk of being near young babies, by carefully selecting your seat beforehand.
Former flight attendant Annie Kingston told that some seats have a higher probability of being near babies and generally they're the ones near bulkheads, also known as the dividing wall between cabins.
This is because these seats are often the only ones that can have a bassinet secured to them, so parents try and nab them if they can.
Kingston also recommended aiming for a seat at the back of the plane if you want to avoid those unhappy, tiny passengers. It also happens to be the spot where you get the most attentive service. Win-win!
