Too cute! Animal rescue league hosts Easter egg hunt for dogs
AND THIS WEEKEND’S EASTER EGG HUNTS, THEY WEREN’T JUST FOR HUMANS. OH, NO. THEY HAD SOME LUCKY FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS WITH GET THE CHANCE TO HUNT FOR SOME EGGS OF THEIR OWN. THE FLOYD COUNTY ANIMAL RESCUE LEAGUE. THEY HOSTED A DOG EGG HUNT ON SATURDAY. IT WAS OVER AT HAMPTON COMMUNITY PARK IN NEW ALBANY. AND YOU BETTER BELIEVE THAT THOSE PUPS, THEY WERE ON THE HUNT FOR ALL THE BEST TREATS INSIDE THE EGGS YOU COULD FIND. TREATS LIKE MILK-BONE ADS OR EVEN SLIPS OF PAPER. THAT COULD BE TURNED IN FOR PRIZES LIKE TOYS AND COLLARS. THIS IS THE FIRST YEAR THAT WE’VE DONE THIS. SO REALLY DON’T KNOW WHAT WE WERE GOING TO EXPECT OUT OF THIS. WE WERE HOPEFUL THAT WE WOULD HAVE 100 DOGS AND I THINK WE WILL ALSO SURPASS THAT AND WE’LL BUILD UPON THIS FOR NEXT YEAR. HOW FUN. RIGHT. AND THE MONEY RAISED FROM THIS EVENT, IT ACTUALLY GOES TOWARD HELPING HOMELESS ANIMALS IN FLOYD COUNTY, THE FLOY

Not all of the Easter events leading up to the holiday are for humans.Some lucky four-legged friends in the state of Indiana had the chance to hunt for some eggs.The Floyd County Animal Rescue League hosted a dog egg hunt on Saturday at Sam Peden Community Park in New Albany, Indiana.The pups were on the hunt for all the best treats.Inside the eggs, treats could be found like Milk-Bones or slips of paper that could be turned in for prizes like toys and collars. "This is the first year that we've gone to this so we really don't know what we were going to expect out of this,” Jason Schroeder, with the rescue league, said. “We were hopeful that we would have 100 dogs, and I think we're well past that, and we'll build upon this for next year." The egg hunt was not only cute and fun, but it was impactful.The money raised from the day will go toward helping homeless animals in Floyd County. The Floyd County Animal Rescue League works directly with the New Albany Animal Shelter.
