'Good Boy' recovering after he was shot in Ames
WORKS FOR MARCH OF THIS YEAR. NEW TONIGHT A DOG IN AMES IS GETTING A NEW LEASE ON LIFE. WE’RE HAPPY TO TELL YOU, AFTER HE WAS SHOT. YEAH, THIS IS A ROUGH STORY. YOU MIGHT REMEMBER WE BROUGHT IT TO YOU RECENTLY. vlog’S PEPPER PURPURA MET THE PUP AND SHOWS US WHERE HE IS ON HIS ROAD TO RECOVERY. HE’S THE DOG THAT CAPTURED AMES HEART. HE’S NOW ON THE ROAD TO RECOVERY. GOOD BOY. THANK YOU FOR JULIANNA MOSLEY’S LATEST, FOSTER. YOU’RE SUCH A GOOD BOY. IT’S ALL TRICKS. GOOD BOY. AND TREATS WHILE HE HEALS. FROM WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A DEADLY ACT OF CRUELTY. I THINK HE’S GOING TO HAVE A PERMANENT HEADACHE. ON JANUARY 14TH. GOOD BOY WAS FOUND LIKE THIS OFF OF SOUTHEAST 16TH STREET IN AMES. SOMEONE SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD AND ABANDONED HIM, LEAVING BULLET FRAGMENTS IN HIS SKULL. THE BULLET WENT THROUGH HIS EAR RIGHT HERE AND GRAZED THE INSIDE OF HIS EAR. AND YOU CAN SEE THAT IT’S CRUSTY AND BLOODY IN THERE. AND THEN WENT ALONG HIS SKULL INSIDE OF HIS SKULL RIGHT THERE, AND CAME OUT HIS EYE. DAYS LATER, HE HAD SURGERY AT IOWA STATE’S ANIMAL HOSPITAL. HE LOST HIS EYE TO THE PROCEDURE AND WILL HAVE PERMANENT DAMAGE TO SOME OF HIS EARS. HIS BALANCE IS OFF. I THINK HE IS LEARNING HIS LIMITATIONS. CERTAINLY HE CAN’T SEE AND I’M NOT SURE HE CAN HEAR, BUT HE SURE PAYS ATTENTION TO EVERYTHING THAT’S GOING ON WHILE HE HEALS. MOSLEY IS DISCOVERING WHAT HE CAN DO. BUDDY! COME HERE. SOMEBODY HAS SPENT HOURS AND HOURS WITH THIS DOG AND TAUGHT HIM A LOT. AS HE CONTINUES LEARNING ABOUT HIS TALENTS, SHE’S ALSO HOLDING OUT HOPE FOR JUSTICE. WHOEVER SHOT HIM IN THE HEAD NEEDS TO BE ACCOUNTABLE, BECAUSE THIS IS A DOG THAT COULD HAVE BEEN EASILY REHOMED, AND YOU CAN SUPPORT GOOD BOY BY SUPPORTING THE AMES ANIMAL SHELTER. THEY FUNDED MOST OF HIS VET BILLS TO TAKE CARE OF THIS SURGERY. HE’LL BE ABLE TO FIND INFORMATION ON HOW TO DONATE ON THE vlog WEBSITE UNDER THIS STORY. IN AMES, PEPPER PURPURA, vlog
