Up until now, we've only seen photos of Will Smith's take on Genie in the upcoming live-action "Aladdin." Disney's latest trailer finally shows the big blue guy in action.The trailer debuted during the Grammys on Sunday, where it also revealed a look at the villainous Jafar (Marwen Kenzari), Princess Jasmine (Naomi Scott), Aladdin (Mena Massoud) and the spectacular city of Agrabah. Smith previously explained to Entertainment Weekly that he wanted to bring a "hip-hop flavor" to the role with his portrayal of Robin Williams' classic Disney character. "Whenever you’re doing things that are iconic, it’s always terrifying," Smith told EW. "The question is always, 'Where was there meat left on the bone?' Robin didn’t leave a lot of meat on the bone with the character."Smith added that Williams "infused the character with a timeless version of himself," admitting that he hoped to do the same."I started to feel confident that I could deliver something that was an homage to Robin Williams but was musically different," he said. He continued, “I think it’ll stand out as unique even in the Disney world. There hasn’t been a lot of that hip-hop flavor in Disney history.” Last year, Smith also hinted that his version of Genie is a "little bit 'Fresh Prince,' a little bit 'Hitch.'""Aladdin" hits theaters across the country on May 24.
