Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller is one week in to her for bankruptcy fraud and bringing $120,000 in Australian currency into the U.S. without reporting it. But in an interview filmed before she went behind bars, she tearfully worried she wouldn’t survive her sentence.
In a new special on Lifetime, Dance Moms: Abby Tells All, which airs July 25, she reflects on what led her to her prison sentence and how she fears what is in store. “I probably won’t survive [prison],” she told The View’s Jedediah Bila. “I am doing the time. I am taking the blame.”
In a preview clip posted by Lifetime, Miller admits she “made lots of mistakes” but still stands by her work. “I gave kids a new life,” she said. “No one can take that away from me. No one.”
Bila announced the interview on Tuesday’s The View. “I promise you, I learned things about her I never thought I would hear,” she said. “There’s lots of tears, there’s lots of revelations.”
Previously, Miller told she had a lot of questions about what life would be like in prison. “I need to find out other things. Like, I wanna know, can I wear socks to bed? Because my feet cramp up and they freeze. Can I do this, do that?” she said. “I’m not out taking karate. I’m not in a self-dense class, though maybe I should be.” reports she did consult with a former law enforcement official to get her questions answered. Apparently, she was told to follow orders, make friends with the correction officers, and stay close to inmates who might be starstruck to defend herself from bullies.
