'Ripped our hearts apart': 6 unvaccinated members of a Florida church die of COVID-19 within 2 weeks
a swarm of covid 19 cases reported inside the Jacksonville impact Church. Senior pastor George Davis says his phone hasn't stopped ringing in the last 10 days. We have had six members of our church who have passed away from covid For them were under the age of 35. All of them were healthy and the only thing they had in common that each of them were not vaccinated. He says 15-20 members are in the hospital. Another 10 or so at home with the virus and 3-5 vaccinated. Members also tested positive. That's pain. These are actual people that I know that I've pastored, that 1 24 year old kid, I've known him since he was a toddler. Davis says it was late in July when they learned a member tested positive. He says from then, it's been a cascade of additional cases. Those who passed, he says weren't in the hospital long before they went terminal during church services. They require masks, the auditorium is thoroughly cleaned in between services. They practice social distancing and offer hand sanitizers. Davis is pushing to get more people vaccinated. The line will Progress around here. The tables here where they'll have a chance to actually register. They held a vaccine event in March where he says they vaccinated about 800 people with the surge in the community and inside the church there holding another event. All I know is my heart passion is to help the people that I'm called to serve and do it, do whatever I can to help see to it that they are in a healthier place. It's open to the public and Davis encourages everyone to get informed and get the vaccine.
