2024 NCAA Women's Basketball Final Four sees drastic increase in ticket sales as fans make plans
As the road to the Final Four for both the NCAA men's and women's basketball teams continues, ticket prices show tickets for the women's games are at all-time highs.
According to TickPick's data, the NCAA Women's Final Four this year is the most expensive yet. Data shows the average purchase price of $532, which according to TickPick is 82% more expensive than last year's Final Four average purchase price of $291.
As of Tuesday evening, Ticketmaster shows the starting ticket prices currently available for both women's Final Four games as going for $881 in comparison to the men's Final Four games' $758.
On Wednesday, Logitix reported that the average women's semi-final ticket sold on resale sites went for $2,323, while the average resale of a men's semi-final ticket was $1,001.21. Resale tickets for the women's championship game averaged $1,110.63 this week, and men's championship resale tickets averaged $646.45.
"Yeah, it's more," said Tony Wilson, a Hawkeye fan in Iowa City who is going to the women's Final Four games. "They're going up now, but I don't think it's a bad price."

Wilson says he bought tickets for the NCAA women's Final Four games about two weeks ago. He says the purchase came about after a good friend of his asked if he thought the Hawkeyes would make it to the Final Four this year.
"We went out and bought the hotel and got the tickets and we were just hoping from that point on that they would make it," said Wilson.
If the Hawkeyes didn't make it, Wilson says he wouldn't sell the tickets. Instead, he would just go because he's a big fan of women's basketball.
"They pass. They play the way they're supposed to: good defense and team basketball," said Wilson. "The men's games just seem a little different."
If there's one person who can talk about how exciting seeing part of the NCAA Women's Basketball Tournament in-person, it's 11-year-old Reagan Hesseltine from Pella. Her parents surprised her with her tickets to the Sweet 16 last Tuesday.
"We bought the tickets before we were even sure they were going to Albany," said Jenny Hesseltine, Reagan's mother.
Reagan enjoyed every moment of her trip, especially getting her custom-made sign saying, "Never been a sweeter time to be a Hawkeye. Let's go Hawks," signed by two Hawkeye players. Reagan left with a ton of pictures and videos, including one where she was stunned into silence when Caitlyn Clark walked to the team bus just feet away from her.
"I was very excited and kind of speechless at the same time," said Hesseltine.
While seeing the Hawkeyes beat LSU to head to the Final Four was big, the overall experience for Hesseltine was what made the trip worth it, especially for someone like her who loves playing the sport just as much as watching.
"They've just helped me to stick with it," said Hesseltine. "I found that I love the sport a lot more than I thought because I got to watch them play."
